Be
part of the world's unique electric bike race. Racing in the homeland of Nikola
Tesla, the man who invented electricity, the man without whom even electric
bicycles would not exist.
The base camp is located in Gospić - the town of Nikola Tesla, and the cycling
routes pass through the region of Lika - Tesla's hometown.
By organizing this race, we want to join the worldwide trend of promoting the
use of electric vehicles, including e bikes. However, this does not mean that
"ordinary" bikes are not welcome at our Tesla eBike Rally. Actually far from it.
All recreational and sports activities will be organized specifically for the
eBike category and for the "ordinary" bike category.

it is intended not only for those who are keen on sports but also
for recreational cyclists. For them, 6 very attractive cycling
routes have been organized throughout the region of Lika. The
birthplace of Nikola Tesla is magical and inspiring. Perhaps by
staying in Lika, you will get an idea that will change the world.
Beautiful natural landscapes, fresh air, clean water, healthy food
and the biodiversity that you will become familiar with while riding
the attractive cycling trails of Lika are a challenge you must not

The rally is driven on a total of 6 trails, with 6 separate races,
each day on a different trail. Each trail will have one or more
checkpoints whose locations will not be known previously.
Competitors must adhere to the specified race trails according to
the field markings and instructions that will be sent to them by
post upon registration.
|
|
|
|
The trails on which individual races and recreational rides will
take place will in some places cross or pass public roads that will
not be closed to traffic. While driving on public roads,
participants must comply with the traffic regulations in force in
the Republic of Croatia without disturbing other road users. In
cooperation with the police, the organizer will endeavour to adapt
traffic regulation to the needs of the rally by closing the road
sections, alerting and stopping other road users and alerting the
participants to oncoming vehicles. Subsequent changes to the track
are possible as of 31.06.2023. Participants will be notified by
mail. The organizer reserves the right to change the route of each
individual race before the start of the race. It is strictly
forbidden to throw away waste on the rally trails. It is not allowed
to use non-pliable drinking bottles (glass, metal, etc.).

|
|
Refreshment zones
The routes of all 6 tracks will have one or more refreshment zones
where competitors will be able to recharge their bottles with
isotonic drinks and water and use consume energy bars, fruit and
cakes.
Competitors are required to take care of the intake of liquids and
food during the race. The organizer will make sure that there is
enough food and liquid in the refreshment zones, but he will not
take responsibility if there is not enough drink and food for all
competitors.

Start and finish:
Start and finish of the race is in Gospić. The exact location will
be notified to all competitors.
The start of each individual race for all 6 tracks begins as
follows:
- 13:30 eBike men's category
- 13:40 women's category
- 13:50 bike men's category
- 14:00 bike women's category
|
Participants take their starting position at least 5 minutes before
the race start. A competitor who comes to the starting position
after the official race start will not be allowed to start.
The timing of the race is done with a chip and starts by passing
through the starting line. The competitor finishes the race by
passing through the finish line on which the timing system is
located. A competitor will be credited for participating in the race
if he or she has arrived at the finish line and has not violated any
of the stated race rules.
The organizer can change the start time, about which the competitors
will be notified on time.

Entry fee
The entry fee is included in the price of registration and is
payable upon payment of the registration fee. It is the same for all
categories and applies to the entire rally, i.e. 6 races.
|
The starter pack for all 6 races includes:
- start number
- electronic timing equipment - chip (deposit in the amount of 30 €)
- rally info card.
|
The participants also receive the following:
- quick overview of results after the race
- marked routes and track profiles
- refreshment zones
- route volunteers

preventive safety, protective and medical measures.
|
Deposit chip in the amount of 30 € will be refunded at check-out
when the electronic chip must be returned undamaged.
Handing over of the starter pack will be done on 08.07.2023. in
Smiljan, on the info desk of the race base camp at check-in. When
handing over the starter pack, each participant will be assigned to
his group and meet his group leader.

Categories
For those eager to compete and for adrenaline rush, the eBike Rally
is designed for four categories of racers.

For each of these four categories, 6 separate races are organized
separately, on 6 different tracks. For each category, the winner of
each individual track is declared and awarded as well as the overall
winner of the rally. Second and third places will be awarded with
cash in individual races.
|
|
|
|
In
addition to individual rally competitors, teams of 4 members are
allowed to participate. Teams can be organized according to the
criteria of a cycling club, bicycle and/or electric bike
manufacturer, sponsor or other criteria.
|
|
|
|
Announcing and rewarding the winner among the teams is only at the
level of the entire rally, and the result will be the sum of the
results of the teams achieved in all 6 separate races. Only the
first-place finisher is awarded with cash, while second and third
place finishers will be awarded medals.
|
|
|
The minimum number of entrants per category is 25, and the minimum
number of teams per category is 5.
In case of insufficient number of persons interested in a category,
that category is abolished. In that case,
the participant is entitled to a full refund of the entry fee and,
if he wishes, he can participate in the rally recreationally without
the possibility of competition. If the participant does not wish to
participate recreationally, he/she shall be entitled to a full
refund of the amount paid for the registration.

|
Publication of results and awarding of prizes
The results of each individual race for each category will be
announced on a large informative display which will be located at
the finish lane. Results of the overall category rally winners will
be announced on Friday, 14 July 2023 upon the end of the 6th race.
Information on the results will also be posted on the rally's
official website.
|
|
|
|
The announcement of the prize winners and the presentation of the
awards for individual races will be organized upon the end of each
individual race. Awards are given in the form of medals and cash
prizes. The announcement of the overall rally winners and the
awards, both individually and for the teams, will be organized on
Friday, 14 July 2023 upon the end of the 6th race. The participants
are awarder cups, medals ad cash prizes.

|
|
If
the prize winners do not appear at the ceremony, the organizer will
hand them over to the winners subsequently as agreed.
|
|
Prize money
The total prize money of the rally is 22,400.00 €. The total prize
pool of each of the 4 categories of competitors is 5,600.00 €.
|
|
|
|
INDIVIDUALS
|
Cash prizes for individual races by category:
1. place - 300 €
2. place - 200 €
3. place - 100 €
The prize money for the total winner of the rally by category (best
time in the sum of all 6 races) is 400 €.
|
|
|
|
TEAMS
|
Teams are rewarded by category solely as overall rally winners. The
prize money for a team that is the overall winner of a category
rally (best time in the sum of all races) is 1600 €.
Team members participate in the competition for the first three
places in individual races.
A team member can also be awarded as the overall individual rally
winner in all 6 races.
|
|
|
|
Payment of cash prizes will be made exclusively to the competitor's
bank account. The prize payments are in EUR.
|
|
|
|
Responsibility
|
Each rally participant is responsible for his own safety during a
race or recreational trail. The rally organizer assumes no
responsibility for any injuries or damage sustained or caused by the
rally participant.
At the time of registration, all participants are required to sign a
statement assuming all the risks associated with participating in
the rally and the waiver of claims against the organizer regarding
the possible risks.
The Organizer reserves the right to prohibit participation in the
competition and recreational trials to all participants who do not
accept and abide by all publicly announced terms and conditions.

|
|
All participants (competitors and recreationalists) should be aware
that the Tesla eBike Rally is a sporting and recreational event, but
also a test of endurance and extreme sport, and that there is a risk
of serious injury, illness, death and/or damage to the participants,
as well as sports and other equipment. All participants should be
aware and understand that for the Tesla eBike Rally it is necessary
to have the skills and knowledge required by mountain biking, that
the race will be driven on rocky, narrow and steep tracks, macadam
paths and roads whose weight can be further influenced by weather
conditions such as rain and wind. The organizer is not responsible
for any damage to the equipment, the participant or any third party.
The rally participant waives the right to claim possible damage from
the organizer. The rally participant is obliged to have valid health
insurance in the Republic of Croatia, so the organizer does not bear
the costs of medical care, treatment, etc. in this regard.

|
|
Safety, protection and medical care:
|
In
order to make your participation in the Tesla eBike Rally as secure
as possible, the organization of the rally includes:
- Group leaders trained in first aid
- Provided medical care in the health institutions of Gospić
- Mountain Rescue Service - HGSS
- Traffic police who will keep the safety of the participants when
moving around the city and major thoroughfares
- Equipped and educated technical service for bicycle servicing
- Guard and security service

|
|
Required and recommended equipment:
|
|
Each rally participant is required to adhere to all safety
instructions, to possess a technically sound bicycle with night
riding equipment and a mandatory protective cycling equipment. All
participants must wear a protective cycling helmet at all times.
During the race, competitors must wear clothing and footwear in
accordance with the weather condition and secure drinks bottles. The
organizer provides a fully equipped and trained bike repair service,
but it is still recommended that participants bring with them basic
equipment and essential bike repair kit tools. The organizer will
provide sockets for charging the batteries, but e-bike owners are
obliged to take care of the charging of the batteries themselves.

|
|
Technical safety of bicycles:
|
Recreationalists are advised, and competitors must only use
human-powered mountain bicycles. The maximum permissible motor power
in the E-bike category is 250W. All participants must ensure the
technical safety of their bikes, with particular emphasis on safety
(braking), and the organizer reserves the right to prohibit the
participation in a rally with defective or inappropriate bikes.
Competitors are prohibited from using saddlebags, trailers and
tandem bikes.

|
|
Rules of conduct during racing or recreational driving:
|
During the race, all participants must adhere to fair-play rules of
conduct and treat other participants, other persons, material
possessions and nature carefully. Participants are required to drive
carefully, in accordance with their abilities. Particular caution
should be exercised while descending hillsides and roads where road
traffic takes place.
Participants are obliged to report to the closest official organizer
any accident, malfunction or violation of the rules they observe
during the race or recreational run. Slower participants in a race
or recreational run must let pass faster competitors, in accordance
with conditions on a track.
In the event of an accident, each participant is obliged to provide
emergency medical assistance to other participants of the race or
recreational run. Assistance to competitors during the race by other
persons in the form of towing, pushing, or creating a leeway with
the vehicle is not permitted. This form of assistance during
recreational driving is permitted. Passing of food, drink, clothing
or spare parts by persons standing on the edge of the race track is
permitted. It is also allowed to provide medical assistance by the
organizer.

|
|
Cancellation of participants during the race:
|
|
Participants who for any reason are not able to finish the race must
be reported to the organizer upon arrival at the finish line. In the
event that the participants fail to arrive, the organizer will
initiate a search action by the competent services at the expense of
the person being sought. In case of cancellation during the race due
to health problems, the participant can report it to any official of
the organizer. In the event of an injury to a participant or a
bicycle malfunction, he/it should be positioned along the edge of
the track to allow other riders free passage.

|
Participants' health status:
|
|
All participants (competitors and recreationists) must be physically
and medically fit to participate in the rally. Participants must
check their health status and have a physician's license to
withstand the physical requirements of participating in the rally.
The organizer may seek permission from a doctor if the participant
shows weaknesses.
|
|
|
|
Registering process:
|
By
registering for a recreational MTB bike/Tesla eBike Rally race,
every participant becomes eligible
of taking part as a recreationist and/or competitor. The race will
be held from 08.07.2023 to 15.07.2023
in the area of Gospić and its surroundings.
The race is of a recreational nature and does not require a
professional cycling license to participate.
For participants under the age of 18, the registration form must be
signed by the parents.
Only persons who have registered through the registration form
submitted by email
and registered at the info desk of the base camp in Smiljan on
08.07.2023 from 08:00 to 21:00 can participate in the race. The
organizer
reserves the right to deny the right to participate in the
competitive part of the race
to all competitors who have paid the entry fee and have not
registered in due time.
When registering, participants are required to provide the race
organizer with their personal data (first name, last name,
address, year of birth, gender, contact number, e-mail address). By
registering for a race, participants accept the race rules.

|
|
Cancellation of application:
|
|
In
case of withdrawal, the participant is not entitled to recover the
funds paid for registering for the Tesla eBike Rally, but the
registration can be transferred to another person. Changing the data
is possible by the same procedure as during regular logging in.
|
|
|
|
Cancellation of a race:
|
The organizer reserves the right to cancel or interrupt the race at
any time in case of force majeure, unpredictable situation and
violation of the safety of the race participants or other persons.
In the event of cancellation of the race due to the above
conditions, the race participants are not entitled to compensation.
Right to 100% refund of the money paid
for the registration for Tesla eBike Rally is only possible in case
of cancellation by the organizer before the official start of the
event, i.e. before 08.07.2023.

|
|
Warnings-sanctions-fines:
|
The organizer reserves the right to suspend a competitor if:
- he starts with a bike that doesn't fit the rules
- has no visible start number
- starts from the wrong starting position
- intentionally interferes with other competitors
- holds for a motorized vehicle while racing
- does not comply with traffic regulations
- applies dangerous or aggressive driving
- rides without a helmet
- takes narcotics or drugs
- threatens and offends other participants, representatives of the
organizers or the audience
- does not cooperate with the team leader
- does not adhere to the general public rules of the race
- does not respect the public order and peace of the generally
accepted norms of behavior

|
Other provisions:
|
|
Tesla eBike Rally is a recreational race. Participation in the rally
does not require membership in professional cycling associations,
etc., so rally participants can be amateur recreational and racers.
|
|
Drivers drive at their own risk. Organizers shall not bear
responsibility for actions or nonfeasance of participants towards
third parties. The race is driven regardless of the weather. All
drivers, regardless of license, have the right to race.
|
|
Registration is only possible for the entire rally, i.e. for 6
races. Registration for individual races is not possible.
|
Minimum number of rally participants - 200
Maximum number of rally participants - 800
|
In
case that by 15.06.2023. does not reach the minimum number of 200
participants, the rally is canceled and the organizer returns the
money to all those who paid for the application.
In case that by 15.06.2023. reaches the minimum number of 200
participants, further applications are accepted until 25.06.2023 or
until the maximum number of 800 participants is reached.

Participants agree that their pictures, name and surname are used
solely for:
- promotional purposes of the race.
- informing about other events organized by the promoter or
organizer
- sending a satisfaction questionnaire regarding products and
services available during the race
- sweepstakes and other promotions during the race.
|
The organizer uses the information in accordance with the
requirements of Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament.
Participants can request deletion of their information from the
organizer database at any time.
|
|
Communication and all other information that will be presented to
the participants will be in Croatian and English. Each written
consent confirmed by the signature of the participant implies that
the participant is fully aware and consents to the content,
regardless of which country it comes from and from which language.
